Bainbridge Gives is OPEN

May 15, 2023

It's that time of year! BCF's Community Grants Cycle (CGC) is open for Island residents to support causes that matter most to them. Whether priorities lie in providing basic needs for neighbors, creating opportunities for traditionally underserved populations, or supporting creative new initiatives in the arts sector, Bainbridge Gives (the funding phase of the Community Grants Cycle), allows for everyone in our community to participate in the CGC.

Last year, BCF partnered with generous donors to award 60 CGC grants for a total of $561,692 across all nonprofit sectors. Of the funded applications, 32 went specifically towards Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Social Justice (IDEAS) efforts and 19 were awarded for COVID-19 support. These grants were funded in sectors including arts and culture, animal welfare, education, environment, recreation, health, housing, and human services.

This year, BCF received over $625,000 in requests. Proposals include supporting mental health services and counseling for vulnerable populations, expanding creative education for youth through arts and cultural activities, and providing childcare tuition assistance for low-income families. Every request fulfills a community need within the sectors of arts and culture, animal welfare, education, environment, recreation, health, housing, and human services.

Now through June 15th, you can support your favorite proposal(s), which have been thoroughly vetted and approved by 53 dedicated volunteers from our community. Please log in to BainbridgeGives.org to see how you can support these worthy applications. For short descriptions of each application, check out BCF's latest Bainbridge Gives newsletter.
